Principal’s Message:
Choosing the right school to bring out the best in your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make.

At Raha International School (RIS), a member of the Taaleem family of schools, we believe that a successful education is all about inspiration: inspired teaching to drive academic achievement, and responsible adult role modeling to encourage emotional intelligence. RIS is an International Baccalaureate World School catering for all grades from EY 1 to Grade 12, offering this internationally acclaimed curriculum respected for its relevance to today’s multicultural and increasingly global society. Our school is a contemporary and dynamic organisation, educating students from over 80 nations who collectively speak 45 mother tongues.

Our programmes feature an inquiry approach that aligns student interest with what they learn, thereby enriching their natural curiosity and promoting a love of learning. Those with a good knowledge of the IB understand intuitively that our approach is effective in promoting the development of 21st century skills, which lead to success in life and in the workplace. Our team of internationally experienced, skilled and motivated teachers model the attributes of the Learner Profile and encourage their proliferation within our student body. A strong sense of common purpose pervades our learning community.

I thank you for your expression of interest in Raha International School and look forward to welcoming you and your family.

Extra Curricular Content:: RIS has always placed a huge emphasis on its Extra-curricular Programme (ECP). It is often said that shared activities outside regular scheduled school hours create the strongest memories, and with this in mind the activities offered by the school are many and varied. Our Extra-curricular Programme activities are updated every term according to student interest. The ECP programme runs through most of the school year although some of the outdoor activities are curtailed by the very hot weather in September/October and May/June. The ECP also coordinates with our competitive sports teams and external clubs, to provide many quality experiences for RIS students. Activities are organised and offered by teachers, each of whom has their own area of expertise. A number of parent volunteers and senior students also actively participate and this enables the school to offer a wider range of clubs and sports. The vast majority of the activities are offered free of charge. In addition, we are proud to host ESM (East Sports Management) as a specialist professional sports institution with highly qualified, international coaching staff. ESM’s Activities includes Tennis, Karate and Capoeira to name but a few. Based in Dubai, ESM provides sports training academies conducted by professional coaches for both children and adults of all levels.
Sports:: The Athletic Director at RIS organises a wide variety of teams and is responsible for scheduling tryouts, practices and fixtures. In previous years, RIS students participated in over 130 competitions with other schools. The coaches for school teams are generally recruited from the teaching staff but we also encourage parents and senior students with expertise or interest to get involved.
