Welcome and thank you for entrusting your child’s education to our team of educators at Scholars International Academy.
Scholar’s International Academy is one of only two schools in Sharjah accredited by British Schools Overseas, an organization of the UK Department of Education. In addition, we are a member of British Schools Middle East, network of schools helping school administrators and teachers share best practice and providing professional educational development.
We are proud to be a Cambridge School, delivering an enhanced international British curriculum and examinations, and part of Cambridge Assessment, a department of the University of Cambridge. These accreditation and memberships form the foundation of our school program and school life.
Through our strong, professional and caring teaching staff, excellent facility and robust education program, Scholars International Academy learners prepare for exceptional futures.
With best regards,
Assessment is mandatory for all children seeking admission from Foundation to Year 13.
The purpose of the assessment is to gain an understanding of the child’s stage of language development, knowledge, abilities and experience in relation to our academic programme.
The admissions procedure is made up of 3 steps: a school tour, an assessment and registration. All steps need to be booked by appointment.
THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Step 1 – School Tour
Mondays at 9 am or 11 am
Wednesdays at 9 am only
We encourage you to call or email to make a reservation for a tour at Scholars International Academy. School tours are held every Monday at 9 am and 11 am and every Wednesday at 11 am only; bookings for tours are required. Following the school tour, parents will be informed of requirements for school documentation, assessment procedures and reservations. At the end of the school tour, you are invited to book your assessment time.
Upon booking the assessment, payment of 200AED (per student, cash only, non-refundable) is required.
Step 2 – Student Assessment (Mandatory)
Wednesdays — 1:00 pm for children going into Foundation 1 or Foundation 2.
Saturdays — 9:00 am for children going into Year 1 – Year 10.
Assessments are held on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm for children eligible for Foundation 1/Foundation 2 (requested arrival time is 12:45 pm).
For children eligible for Year 1 – Year 10, the assessments take place on Saturdays at 9:00 am.
Bookings are required.
PLEASE NOTE: There is no preparation required for the Admissions Test and it is not the only deciding factor as to whether a seat is offered. This is not an exam but merely a guide for us to identify each student’s capabilities and to allow the admissions team to make the most informed decisions regarding placement for your student, the class and class teacher.
You will be contacted within one week from the date of the assessment. If your child is offered a seat at SIA, you will be asked to proceed with registration.
For entry into Years 8 and above, the successful completion of the assessment and review of school documents is followed by an interview with the Principal and Vice Principal regarding subject selection.
Step 3 – Registration
Sundays to Thursdays — 7:30 am till 10:00 am.
All prospective SIA parents are required to book an appointment for registration once their student has been offered a seat. Registrations take place on Sundays to Thursdays, between 7:30 am and 10:00 am and takes approximately one hour. Bookings are required. You will be asked to complete paperwork, provide photos and copies of documentation and pay the non-refundable Admission Fee of AED 700 per student (cash or cheque) along with Resources and Uniform. Joining information will be given to you at the time of registration.
Completion of registration guarantees your student a seat at SIA.
The following documents are required to complete registration:

Our Vision is to provide a student centered learning environment where our children are authors of their own learning and become authors of their own futures. We want our children to be prepared for the challenges of life and have the critical skills and communicative abilities to tackle those challenges that have yet to manifest, in this rapidly evolving society. Our children will be confident individuals who are comfortable in taking risks but have the values to act with thoughtfulness and humility. They will be successful in the path they choose and be tolerant and respectful of all cultures and beliefs. They will be lifelong learners that find inspiration and happiness as part of their daily lives.
Our mission is to fulfill our vision through a challenging learning environment that encourages high standards and expectations through development-appropriate instructions that allow for individual differences and learning styles. We will do this through the use of qualified teachers who have the best of their children at heart and are able to deliver stimulating lessons that foster inquiry and creativity. We will do this within a safe and nurturing environment that supports and encourages each child’s academic, personal, physical and social growth. We will do this through a co-operative and proactive relationship with the parents, making them part of the educational process. We will do this in an environment where learning is enjoyable.
